About
Film actor and star of such box office juggernauts as “The Fly,” “Jurassic Park,” “Jurassic Park: The Lost World” and “Independence Day,” Jeff Goldblum has another talent, acclaimed jazz pianist. Goldblum and a band of friends and compatible musicians call themselves the Mildred Snitzer Orchestra (named after a family friend) and perform regularly at Los Angeles' Rockwell Table and Stage (the advice to play a weekly gig was given to him by Woody Allen). John Storie (guitar) James King (tenor saxophone) and Lorca Hart (drums) make up the band.
The group returns to Feinstein's at the Nikko following a sold-out engagement in 2015. Don't expect a staid musical recital. Goldblum's show is anything but that. The proceedings often feel extemporaneous and Goldblum himself usually appears before the show starts as his own opening act, interacting with the audience over movie trivia and true or false questions....
