Legendary European percussionist Andrea Centazzo (known for his collaborations with Derek Bailey, Steve Lacy, John Zorn, ROVA, and many others), visits the Bay Area, accompanied by Los Angeles bassist Jeff Schwartz. This Luggage Store show will be a set of free improvisation, their first appearance as a trio with local guitar master John Shiurba.
In an artistic career that spans over twentyfive years, Andrea Centazzo has given more than 1000 concerts and live performances in Europe and the United States, as well as having appeared and performed on numerous radio and television broadcasts. He has recorded over 60 LP's and CD's, and has authored 350 compositions and eight musicology books. His musical endeavors and creative expression range from the sublime to the passionate, from lyric opera to orchestral symphony and solo percussion. He has performed in momentous festivals as soloist of his own compositions or as conductor of symphonic orchestras. Centazzo is a pioneer of contemporary percussion. It is now over thirty years since musician/composer/alto saxophonist Marco Eneidi has been working out with, performing and recording in duo form with drummers as well as groups. Beginning in 1981 Mr. Eneidi began a daily duo session with the great drummer and instrument builder Jackson Krall. Practicng together every day for several or more hours for many years. This continued in NYC with legendary drummer Denis Charles, Rashid Bakr, Beaver Harris and Sunny Murray.

After moving to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1995, this continued on a daily basis with the great drummers Donald Robinson and Spirit. Followed by daily sessions with Peter Valsamis and VijayAnderson. Since moving to Europe in 2004, where Marco is founding leader of the Neu New York/Vienna Institute of Improvised Music, this has continued with Swiss-Mexican drummer Gabriels Lauber, Didi Kern and the occasional performances with Paul Lovens, Michael Trela and Han Bennink.
